Difference between silicone tubing and PVC tubing

Silicone tubing is a type of rubber tubing, resistant to oil and heat. Rubber tubing has many applications due to the different types of rubber used. Commonly used rubber tubing materials include EPDM, CR, VMQ, FKM, IIR, ACM, and AEM. Common structures include single-layer, double-layer, multi-layer, reinforced, and unreinforced.

The biggest advantage of silicone tubing is its resistance to temperature changes from -60°C to 250°C, but it is very expensive. PVC is commonly used for ordinary water pipes; it is temperature-sensitive, inexpensive, has an odor, and is suitable for general working environments with no specific requirements for the flexible tubing. Silicone tubing has decent pressure resistance, while PVC generally has lower resistance, depending on the wall thickness and diameter. These are the differences between silicone and PVC tubing.
